Aston Villa vs Arsenal was one of the most entertaining fixtures last season, with Villa being the only team in the Premier League to beat Arsenal both home and away.
Heading into this game, every Arsenal fan was desperate for revenge against Villa, as the two defeats last season ultimately stopped them from winning the league.
In the first half, it was a tightly contested affair which Arsenal slightly had the edge. However, the key highlight of the half was a terrible miss from Ollie Watkins from point-blank.
The second half was also cagey, up until the 60th minute, and it looked like Villa would go ahead to win the game. Ollie Watkins was once more in the thick of things, denied by a fantastic save from David Raya. The save from Raya was the turning point in the game as Leandro Trossard, from the bench, introduced himself into the game.
Trossard, who has earned the reputation of scoring off the bench, slotted into the far post shortly after the Raya save and 10 minutes later, Thomas Partey ensured it was party time for Arsenal with an equally sublime finish from outside the box.
Defensively, Arsenal were rock solid, with Saliba and Gabriel rock solid as usual. They now have two clean sheets from two games.
